I need a home...

Hello, my name is Sphinx and I am a one-year-old rescue from Egypt. I have been staying with my foster parents and sister since Christmas Eve last year.

I'm a cuddly medium size dog who has had a tough start to life in Egypt. The volunteers at Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary (CLAS) noticed I rarely looked up and took me to the vets. The vet said I have something called Cervical Discospondylitis and Lumbar Spondylitis and I didn't know what that meant! Turns out I had a nasty infection in my neck and my neck wasn't as flexible and mobile as a doggy my age should be. But after a 4 months' course of antibiotics the vet is happy my infection is gone. I only get the occasional aches, it really is a pain in the neck! I'm very good at taking my pills although I would never turn down chicken or sweet potato treats afterward! Since living with my foster family, I have learnt a few tricks such as 'sit', 'down', 'paw' and 'leave' to name but a few. I love to go on all the walks with my foster sister, whether it's a park or beach walk, I love to explore and my recall is very good. I am ready to be adopted into my forever home. I'm a very friendly and gentle dog and prefer to have company throughout the day. Although I can also be by myself for a couple of hours if needs be. If you are looking for company of an affectionate dog, look no further

PLEASE NOTE - - this dog is currently not at the sanctuary and will remain in its current Foster home until rehoming. All meetings will take place either at the dog's foster home, or in the area. If you can offer a home for Sphinx please fill in an application form on our website. Unfortunately due to the large number of applications we can receive per dog we do have to state that we may not be able to contact every unsuccessful home. If Sphinx is not suitable for your home perhaps one of our other dogs looking for homes would be - do check them out on our website. Adoptive homes will only be considered in NORTHERN IRELAND. We are sorry we cannot accommodate further afield but this ensures we can carry out effective home checks and you have a chance to meet the dogs before adoption.

Whilst every care is taken to find the right dog for you, we cannot guarantee behavior, nor can we guarantee that will have a dog suitable for you. We have a rehoming fee of £70 for dogs. All our dogs are neutered and if not neutered at the time of rehoming will be required to be neutered as soon as permitted by a vet. All adoptions will only take place following meeting the dog at the sanctuary and a home check. You can fill in an online form which will submit directly to our office. You can also download a form that you can print yourself and either post to the sanctuary Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary, 26 Crosskennan Lane, Antrim, BT41 2QY or email to rehoming@crosskennanlane.org.uk
