My Story
Harper and Tweedy (£5 per month)
Harper and Tweedy are our lovely mother and daughter duo. Tweedy was
rescued as part of a welfare case, and shortly after arriving at the sanctuary,
she had Harper.
Tweedy (Brown & white) is quite a shy pony; she can be nervous around
strangers but sweet once she gets to know you. She loves a good scratch once
she’s happy with your company! Tweedy gets a lot of her confidence from her
daughter Harper, who is truly her opposite.
Harper (Mostly black) loves people and is very outgoing. She’ll always be the first to come and greet visitors, especially if she thinks there is a chance they’ve got something tasty for her to eat!
My Story
Betty (£3 per month)
Betty and her sisters were found, orphaned, at only 3 weeks old after their mother was found dead in an industrial area. She was severely underweight, covered in fleas, and had cat flu, so we were unsure if she would make it.
Betty defied all odds and was nursed back to health with help from another mother cat at the sanctuary. Unfortunately, Betty never found a home, despite being one of the friendliest cats we’ve ever known. She always comes to say hello to any visitors to the cat shed and is a favourite amongst staff and volunteers.
Willow (£3 per month)
Willow was referred to us after her owners took her to the pound, where she would have been put to sleep, at only 8 months old. She was a very nervous puppy and didn’t settle in her home, and unfortunately her owners couldn’t cope with her behaviour, misunderstanding her nervousness as aggression.
Fortunately, when she came to the sanctuary Willow learned how to relax and has become a wonderful dog who now enjoys meeting new people. She is even starting to do some work in the sanctuary’s therapy programme!

How it works:
1. Choose Your Animal: Choose between our dog, cat and ponies looking for sponsors and find the one that speaks to your heart.
2. Make a Donation: Your contribution directly supports the care and well-being of your chosen animal*.
3. Stay Connected: Receive regular updates, photos, and stories about your sponsored animal’s journey and progress. There will also be opportunities to come visit them
*Any excess funds will be directed towards the care of other animals in need at Crosskennan, so all donations are put to good use.
Minimum term for monthly sponsorship is 12 months
Delivery times
We will send your sponsor pack as soon as possible, usually within 10 working days particularly for orders close to holidays, including Christmas. However please bear in mind, delivery can take up to 21 days, especially in busy times and due to our admin team being volunteer lead.
